Overview
The Chulu-West Peak climbing trip is popularly known as a beautiful adventure trip in the Annapurna region of the Himalayas. It stands at 6,419 meters above sea level and is popular as one of the trekking peaks in Nepal. This peak climbing trip merges a beautiful Annapurna Circuit Trekking event with it, creating an even more wonderful adventure experience. This trip talks about traversing the trail along the Marshyangdi
River valley up towards the Manang valley and going towards the Chulu West Peak.
While later on climbing the peak, the journey continues through the circuit trail towards Jomsom via Thorong La pass at an elevation of 5,416 meters above sea level. Chulu West Peak is considered the most demanding climbing peak in Nepal. It has three
overnight stays from the base to the top. The beautiful mountain attracts hundreds of seasonal trekkers and non-professional climbers every year to enjoy the adventure journey for its magnificent views and unreal beauty, in addition to the incredible adventure. The trekking and climbing trip start at the best of Sahar and follows the Annapurna Circuit. The trekking trail towards the Marsyangdi Valley stretches towards
the north side of Annapurna. We have to leave the Annapurna Circuit trail at Yak Kharka, beyond the village of Manang, to follow a yak trail into a barren, uninhabited land with little vegetation. We spent a couple of nights at the base camp of Chulu West for proper acclimatization and to practice climbing techniques needed for the summit.
According to their local people, the journey began with preparations towards the summit of Chulu West as the trekkers arrived at Kathmandu, did the necessary preparations, and drove to Syange on a private jeep. And from Syange, trek towards the beautiful villages of Dharapani, Chame, and Pisang and enter into the highest valleys of Manang.
For proper acclimatization and to get familiar with the surroundings, we spent two nights at Manang. From Manang, the trekking journey continues towards Ledar, and finally, we set up camp at Chulu West Base Camp. Trakker professional climbing leaders will
provide detailed instructions on using peak climbing equipment like ice axes, crampons, and ropes. And for the next couple of days, The Trakker pushed for the summit of Chulu, west, walking through glaciers. The climb is straightforward. Previous peak climbing is recommended but not mandatory. It ensures 100% safety during the entire period of the trip. After a successful attempt, we join the popular route of the Annapurn Circuit, crossing the famous Thorong La Pass and pilgrimage site Muktinath to Jomsom.
Catch a flight from Jomsom to Pokhara and then by bus to Kathmandu. To make at least one, and possibly two, high camps and cover rugged terrain on rocks and ice to reach the summit. The required equipment is fixed, but the final climb to the summit is long and gradual, which is more tiring if the snow is soft. Then, taking about an hour after enjoying the summit view, they return to the (lower) high camp on the same date.
Leaving High Camp, you descend to Throng Pedi and then face another tough ascent to the Throng La Pass, 5416 m, which touches the edge of the legendary Tibetan plateau. They must descend into the deepest gorge in the world, the Kali Gandaki valley, reaching a famous pilgrimage site, Multipath, where there are several Hindu andBuddhist temples.
The best time for the trek:
The best time for Chulu West Peak Climbing is from March-May, i.e., in spring, and from September November, i.e., autumn. Nevertheless, winter is also a substantial time to climb if trekkers are well prepared for the cold weather. In the cold, dry, and bright last month of December, views of the mountains are diamond, jewel, and clear, and there are fewer tourists around. The time and duration of the trip can be lengthened or shortened according to your preference. Annapurna Foothills Treks and Expedition will plan every detail of your Chulu West Expedition, including gatehouse accommodations, attendants, food, and all other climbing and camping equipment.
